The reason why films need to have such as huge budget is because you are not only paying for equipment, and actors but for the locations itself. This has a huge impact on films as the production cycle of making films is only increasing as more and more people are making films which makes it a competition out there when creating a master piece. When the director was working on this film they had full support from the BFI to help fund and develop this film as they were very keen with the idea and plot, this helps towards the distribution/exhibition of the films success by a marking deploy at the BFI film festival.

Other films such as James Bond and Kingsman have a lot more money which could be up to 104 million just for one film whereas, Gone Too Far only has £200,000. The genre of the film was a comedy/drama which appeals to a certain audience and the location is set within the UK. This film has links to masculinity through trying to get over their brothers differences which can show essences of masculinity.
