Magazine Covers

The main masthead is the word "Thor", this has been shown by putting it towards the bottom to make it stand out to their target market. The language that is used in the cover is very simple and short, this is because it becomes easier to reach and can become more eye catching to their target audience. They seem to use a few tag lines such as "The world's biggest movie magazine" which can suggest to the readers that the magazine is very accurate and talks a lot about films throughout the image. The font that is used in the language is easy to read so young children can read the magazine mainly because the film on the front cover is mainly aimed for younger children as Loki is a God.

The centre image is a picture of Loki which can suggest to the readers that the target audience is for the younger generation as he stars in a popular movie such as "Thor". The image of Loki has his eyes staring in the camera to catch people's eyes which again can catch the target audience. The colour that is used is bright and stands out to the target audience and has a limited colour pallet.

The comparison between this magazine and the other above is not very much, this is because they have the same layout. For example the centre image is the a picture of a big star and has been enlarged to catch peoples attention, however in the magazine above it has also enlarged the centre image who is the main star. The words EMPIRE is written in the background to say where the magazine is from, this is part of the layout and has been done to the other magazine as well.

The colour and lighting is very dark but has more light towards the bottom to try and make the "special" stand out more to their target audience. The target audience for this magazine would be for an older generation / teenager, this is because the main stars are very well know for the older generation but uses the stars from a children's show.

The text used is very simple and short to read, this is because they want it to be readable by their target audience to make sure they can easily read it without having to examine it for a long time to stand out. The colour of the text can represent action as it is red and eye catchy.
